Map the order before drawing screens
Define how customers see menus, options, and prices, confirm delivery or pickup, and how staff accept and update orders. These decisions shape the backend and operations panel more than card styling does.
Single restaurant or marketplace?
A single restaurant may need a menu, orders, and a clear payment or collection path. A multi-restaurant marketplace adds partner accounts, commissions, settlement, support, and disputes. Do not quote them as the same product.
- Define owner, staff, courier, and administrator permissions.
- Specify delivery zones, fees, and opening hours.
- Decide cancellation and refund handling before release.
Delivery and tracking
Decide whether customers truly need live courier location or whether status updates suffice. Maps, GPS, notifications, calls, and external payment providers add integrations, tests, and possible subscriptions; verify local provider availability.
Start with an operable release
A digital menu, direct ordering, and an admin view may serve a small restaurant before separate courier apps. Match system size to order volume, staff, and fulfillment, then price customer and operator journeys together.
